Hi,

Thank you for stopping by! If you love fashion, beauty, and lifestyle beyond just shopping and scrolling through the feed of the brands, you have come to the right place. Through the series of articles and interviews, my goal is to shed light on the stories not discussed in mass and social media. Not only will I be writing about the glamorous side with beautiful garments and runway shows, but also I will share insight into the industry, sustainability, supply chain, community, technology, and education.

Here’s the short story of why I started this blog. My goal is to raise awareness of the challenges in the fashion industry and to equip everyone involved with knowledge.

The long story is that I have been a part of the apparel industry since early childhood without realizing it. My mom used to work at a knitwear factory, I spent countless hours with her while listening to the sewing machines roaring and looking at the odd pattern pieces. Since I was five I have been drawing clothing ensembles showing each garment separately with their front and back. I was fortunate to have brand new dresses made in one night or an unusual costume for a masquerade ball by my mom.

In my teenage years, my main sources of inspiration were magazines like Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and L’Officiel, and Style.com. My style choices were influenced by the music I listened to during that time, my obsession with soccer, and Sonia Rykiel’s Spring/Summer 2001 collection.

My first career choice was not fashion, I wanted to be an interpreter because I caught mistakes in the movie translations. It was not until 2010 when I moved across the globe to the US to pursue a degree in fashion design and merchandising. This is when my appreciation of craft and the people involved in the industry emerged.

Join me on this journey,

Uliana
